Addiction, Frustration, PAY or TRAIN.

Clash Royale has no adds and is free. By having the game free to play, people download and think "no harm done, its FREE!". But they are not aware of the various business strategies supercell uses to make you eventually, through frustration and slight unfairness, want to SPEND MONEY on the game to have a chance for you (the new free-to-play player) to win.

What might happen:
You download the game. Its really fun! You progress quickly and beat everyone and Supercell makes you want to come back for MORE by having chests take forever to unlock and the crown chest having a cooldown and other strategies. Your addicted, So you keep playing, and now you are in arena 4-5. Legendaries are unlocked and you are now against people with more skill (of somewhat) and you start losing battles. You may be getting frustrated because you are against ppl with legendaries and apparently your the only one without one.

Ok dont get me wrong, legendary cards are POSSIBLE to obtain. But are very rare and the average player wont get one until they have played for awhile unless they are really lucky. Ppl with legendaries have a big advantage over ppl with no legendaries but it is not horribly unfair. If you are skilled and train via youtube, you can BEAT them!

So you are mad that you lose alot now. Supercell has a feature that if you lose 2 battles in a row, you start getting matched up with opponents with a similar deck to the opponent you just lost to. This adds to the frustration. You believe the game is unfair, and you either spend money or delete the game because you keep losing and also dont have a legendary like your friends and everyone else does.

Only to (Maybe) reinstall the game and keep playing. Now you are in arena 6-7. Many ppl have higher level cards then you (And have legendary cards) because youve only been playing 1-2 weeks and theyve played longer or got tempted by the special offers and SPENT MONEY. You dont really have a choice anymore. Unless you are quite skilled, you lose ALOT of battles. How you win? You PAY OF COURSE!

Overall I like this game. It isnt horribly unfair to new free-to-play players, but they must be VERY skilled to get to the higher arenas. You may like the challenge and train via youtube to compete with players with decks that have an advantage over yours. IT CAN BE DONE! The cards are BALANCED and are re-balanced quite often.
